Questions Regarding Orders
How do you order plants? How do drop points work? What is a drop point? All of this is answered here.
How does this work?
The nursery is a private residence and not open to the public. Instead, I decided to implement a drop-point system to handle the orders. This system was inspired by the drop-point system set up by The Family Cow farm (which they apparently learned from another farm). I am also working on coordinating with nearby businesses who are willing to facilitate order pick-ups, which would allow for a longer pick-up window.
How can I place an order?
To place an order, add the products to your cart, select which date and location you wish to pick up your plants. Payment is processed at the time the order is placed, regardless of the day you choose. Alternatively if you wish to place a large order, please contact me for arrangements (including handling order pick-up/delivery).
Do you ship?
There is no shipping at this time. This page will be updated should that change in the future.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major US credit/debit cards and PayPal are currently accepted.
Can I pay cash? Can I come to shop?
Orders can only be placed online and paid for at the time you check out. Since this is a drop point and not a point of sale, I will not have extra plants on hand and have no way of accepting or exchanging cash. This is to help ensure my own safety.
Would you be willing to swap plants?
That depends. Send me a message and let me know what you have available. I may be willing to work something out.
Can I work for plants?
Possibly! I cannot take on any hires at this time, but I am not opposed to bartering. Send me a message.
Why did you decide to use drop points?
As a private residence, I do not have the means to facilitate multiple individuals showing up to purchase plants. I also wanted a solution that was a bit more shopper-friendly than needing to call and schedule an appointment. This way I can tell you where I’ll be and when, and you get to decide which of the available time slots work for you.
Why not provide an option for delivery?
I do not have the time to deliver orders while also operating a nursery and managing a household. Exceptions can be made for large orders, or if I am including the plants as part of a design/install. If you’re looking for something a bit more than a typical online order, please contact me.
How do you select drop-point locations?
To ensure everyone’s safety and accessibility, I aimed for lots in public areas that would have 24/7 surveillance. At least one was chosen due to proximity to a train station. I will likely add/adjust drop points based on customer needs in the future.
Where are the drop-point locations?
Maps are posted for each of these locations with exact(ish) GPS coordinates of the lots at which I plan to set up.
One is at Plymouth Meeting Mall, where 276 and 476 connect – from the highway, stick to the right mall-entrance lane taking it to the end to turn right at Hickory Rd. Take a right at the light (Fountain Rd). Go left from there, I will meet you at the rear of the Boscov’s parking lot (in the corner before you turn right to wrap around the mall). There’s a Whole Foods here, if you kept going to the right, you can park in the garage under the building.
Second is located in a popular shopping area on the corner of 202 and 73 – great spot to grab groceries at Aldi across the street or stop at Wawa before heading home.
Third is on the Fairway in Abington, in the lot directly across from the Noble train station. Please let me know if you are arriving by train in your customer notes, so that I can pack your plants in an easy-to-carry box. Since I am clearly strategizing to pick up groceries, this location is next to a Trader Joe’s.
How long do you stay at the location?
Ideally everyone will arrive on time to pick up their orders and we can all get back to gardening A.S.A.P. Otherwise I will be there for the duration of the time slot provided and head home once time is up. Please do not select a time slot if you aim to arrive five minutes before I need to leave. The time slot has the buffer factored into it.
Why do I only have two weeks to schedule?
It would not be fair to other customers to hold available plants indefinitely when others have time and space to plant them sooner.
It’s also not fair to the plants. Once they’re big enough to go in the ground, they’d be much happier putting down proper roots in proper soil. Pots are a great way to keep seedlings safe and secure from those who would harm them or eat them, but most don’t want to be there long-term. Especially species with taproots. They need to get themselves situated and gather energy to prepare for the winter ahead.
I figured two weeks is a long enough window to make arrangements to meet at the drop point. Otherwise, wait to place your order when you know you can pick them up. There are plenty of amazing plants to choose from, and there will likely be new ones added all the time as they are ready to go to their forever homes.
What if I need to cancel/reschedule my order?
That’s okay! Please use the contact form to send a message.
What if I miss a pick-up?
Your order is cancelled and refunded in full. I understand that sometimes things happen. If you contact me right after you missed it, I may be able to squeeze you into the next day’s drop point. If this happens too often, I will need to implement a restocking fee.
Please don’t do this. I don’t have a huge truck to deliver plants, and if you don’t intend to pick up an order, that’s a time slot someone else could have picked to get plants.
If you contact me before the scheduled drop-point, I will definitely squeeze you into the next available day’s drop point (since you saved me some time and worry).
Can I bring you my empty pots?
Please! I would absolutely accept any non-branded pots to keep reusing for growing and selling plants as long as they’re in decent, usable shape (nothing badly cracked and held together with duct tape). After all, they’re just a way to transport the plant from my nursery to your garden. Let’s keep them out of landfills as long as possible.
I can’t use the branded pots because they’re for selling cultivars that belong to those brands. Ask any of the nurseries who sell those brands if they would be interested in taking them back.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes, I use 3rd party payment processing to handle the financial stuff, and I don’t sell your information to 3rd parties. You can create an account, and I’m the only one who has access to that information, with the ability to delete it if you need me to. I only need your info to get your order together and get your plants to you at the allotted time. At this point in time, I don’t even send a newsletter – it’s just whatever emails you get pertaining to your order.
