As an Amazon Affiliate, I may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.
This has no effect on the purchase on your end. If you’re going to shop on Amazon one way or another, by clicking on an affiliate link, some of those proceeds go to the affiliate instead of all of it going to Amazon.
You may be wondering why I, as a nursery owner, would also seek to be an affiliate. That’s simple – if I am using my website that I pay for out of pocket to promote any products that are not my own on someone else’s site, then they can pay me for the advertising. The amount I earn is barely pocket change since I don’t structure my site around being an affiliate marketer. However, any amount helps to offset the cost of business, so that I can devote more of the earned income from plant sales to growing more plants.
I’ve also been an Affiliate marketer for years, on another site, so it was easy for me to just add this site to my list. The other site, which has tons of educational material that I’ve compiled over the years on fiber arts, I’m able to keep afloat thanks to the commissions. It doesn’t make me any more money than that, but it doesn’t cost me to continue keeping the site free and available for readers. That way I don’t have to beg people for donations. The hidden kickbacks are enough.
