Yes, I can ship *
* Shipping is available to most states east of the rockies. To reduce the spread of Japanese beetles, many states have imposed strict regulations that aren’t something I am capable of following, nor do I wish to. They demand what are essentially lab-grown plants in a sterile environment, separate from nature.
I grow my plants the old-fashioned way – outdoors. I do not have greenhouses or hoop houses. They are exposed to the elements, on the ground (or slightly raised on pallets). There is nothing artificial or sterile about my operation beyond the initial germination or growing species from cuttings. As long as they’re in my nursery, they are being visited, and if blooming, pollinated by insects. While I do stay on top of weeds and invasive pests as much as possible, it’s not enough for certain regulations. Dealing with invasive pests is an unfortunate aspect of a world where we share flora and fauna freely. I fully support any measures to reduce their spread, even if it means that some of you who’d wish to purchase my plants are unable to do so.
Shipping Inquiry Form
Serious inquiry only.
- I do not ship during heat waves or other extreme weather events to avoid plants getting stuck in shipment. If the weather in either my location or destination prohibits shipping, I’ll let you know if I think it makes sense to hold off.
- I do not ship in pots. Plants are prepared for shipping in the manner I feel is best for the species. This is to reduce shipping costs.
- If your plants arrive somewhat dry/wilted I’d recommend giving them a soak. After sitting in a box, allow your plants a few days to adjust to the lighting and conditions on your property in a protected location prior to putting them in the ground. You can also temporarily pot them yourself to hold off until planting at a more optimal time.
- Dormant plants can be planted at any time. Water them in after planting.
- Shipping method is UPS or USPS unless otherwise specified (typically UPS has the better deal with estimated arrival time). There’s an option below if you’d like me to quote overnight shipping. Otherwise, I will opt for the least expensive fastest shipping available.
- You will receive an invoice through Stripe with a link to pay online. All major credit cards accepted in addition to a few other options they process.
- Certain plants cannot be shipped. Any federally protected species cannot be shipped across state lines. In rare cases, there may be quarantines imposed on specific species.
