Near-Native

These are plants native to the US (mostly east of the Rockies) but not native to eastern Pennsylvania or the Northern Piedmont. This category does include western Pennsylvania species. Pennsylvania is a large state, and the two sides are quite different when it comes to the species which grow there. The habitats present in eastern Pennsylvania are different from those in western Pennsylvania. You can still grow these, but most of these species are prairie or prairie-adjacent, rather than woodland type species.
