Golden Groundsel

Description

I only pricked out a few seedlings this year since this is a very popular native plant that every native nursery seems to sell, so I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it to add this year. I can always pot up more if there is demand for it. This is a somewhat aggressive (not the most aggressive in my opinion) native perennial that leafs out early in spring.

Although the showy blooms are present for a short while early in spring, the leaves themselves make a great ground-cover. Grown in part-full sun, the leaves grow to the size of dinnerplates. In light-full shade, they’ll be smaller. As a ground-cover, this plant will spread indefinitely as long as you allow it. Otherwise, split it up and share with friends.
